What I Remember: The second annual “Tactical Faith: Conversations” event centered around Democracy and Islam. We brought Rev. John Rankin and Dr. Radwan Masmoudi to Alabama to dialogue over the topic of how the Muslim and Christian worldviews view the concepts of democracy and freedom. The two night conversation displayed everything we strive for at Tactical Faith. Not only were people showcased to world-class teaching and lectures, they were also presented with real tolerant conversations between two intelligent people. Christ-like gentleness was displayed along with the great character of two men devoted to finding truth.
The ability to ultimately understand anything requires more than just the fierce determination of the will. The starting point and the default position of any learning process must at its core be grounded in true humility. It is humility that allows someone to correctly assess both external and internal situations. In sports we see this play out over the life of a dedicated athlete. When someone is young and learning a sport, they notice quickly how much their skills and knowledge are lacking especially in relation to sports heroes that are idolized.
