The Shroud of Turin is one of those ancient relics, that many Evangelicals are either not aware of, or are very skeptical of. I was one of those skeptics until people like Gary Habermas and Doug Powell illuminated me on the possibility that it could very well be the face of Jesus. Scholars are of course all over the spectrum of whether or not it is authentic or not, but no one can argue against it being a very unusual artifact.
On February 26th Doug Powell will be presenting a replica of the shroud at Holy Trinity Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Doug will be discussing radio carbon dating and the controversies surrounding those tests, as well as another ancient artifact. The Sudarium of Oviedo, which was the alleged face cloth mentioned in John 20:7.
